Community Ball Hockey Tournament

Being Organized for Milton Kids

June 15th

Local volunteers are planning a fun day of ball hockey for Milton kids at a cost of only $10 per child. Game On! Milton’s 1st Annual Ball Hockey Tournament for Charity is set for Saturday, June 15 at the Home Depot plaza on Maple Ave. and is geared towards kids aged 7 to 13.

Parents must pre-register their children at www.tinyurl.com/ctn2625

“As a group we are so excited to organize an affordable event for kids in a growing town full of children,” said Rod McLachlan, Friends of Milton spokesman. “We have only 100 spots available so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible.”

Each registered child will receive a t-shirt and protective eyewear.

There will be two age groups: seven to 10 and 11 to 13.

The younger age group will kick off with sign-in at 8:30 AM and will run until 1 PM.

The older category will start with sign-in at noon

and will run until 4 PM.

Games will be run four-on-four, plus a goalie.

Organizers will assign individual participants to teams through a lottery system.

The Rotary Club of Milton will run a day-long barbecue on site.

A DJ and the School of Rock band will provide music.

Special guests will include the Milton Fire Department and truck,

Canada’s most talented drag racer Tony Pontieri with his dragster

and possibly a special hockey guest to drop the ceremonial first ball.

The event is being organized by the Friends of Milton

– a volunteer group comprised of local Rotarians, Optimists, Knights of Columbus and Italian Club members – as well as the Milton Orthotic and Wellness Centre Foundation.

All net proceeds will be in support of The ROCK Milton (Reach Out Centre for Kids).

The ROCK is the largest accredited children’s mental health centre in Halton Region.

Organizers are looking for local businesses to sponsor teams

and for an overall event title sponsor.

Interested businesses can contact Angelo Posteraro at 647-588-9466 or angelo@miltonorthoticwellness.com
