PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

 

     Many new initiatives are being introduced at Notre Dame this year, not the least of which is an entirely new timetable.  At the request of parents, students and teachers, an assessment of the previous schedule was performed throughout the last school year and the current timetable was designed to better meet the needs of the school and the community.  Similar to any other new initiatives, we will continue to monitor whether or not the needs of the community are truly being met and we will evaluate the success of the timetable throughout the school year. 

 

Communication between the home and the school remains a top priority for Notre Dame.  This new website should enable parents to become more aware of what goes on at Notre Dame on a week to week if not day by day basis.  It is imperative that parents are able to access the following:

 

               1.  Student timetables- see SIS link on Home Page

               2.  Student attendance by period by day - see SIS link

               3.  Student accumulated credits and marks - see SIS link

               4.  "Week at a Glance" - summary sports and activities

               5.  School Improvement Plans

               6.  Literacy test results

               7.  Numeracy test results

               8.  Province, board and school results for EQAO scores.

               9.  School Council minutes and initiatives.

             10.  Group activities within the school.

 

As you know, a website is only successful if it is timely and properly maintained.  It is our goal this year to establish a user-friendly site so that more and more staff and students at Notre Dame can contribute.   Notre Dame is dedicated to provide the resources necessary to make this means of communication an effective site for much of the information which parents need.  It is our hope that this site will provide an easy and accessible method for the school to communicate with its school community.
