| St. Luke School community is pleased to announce an exciting campaign to support Haiti. In November, the Grade 6 classes had the opportunity to participate in the Me to We program which encourages children to become leaders in their school community and inspire their school community to take action. | The Ministry of Education and the Independent Learning Centre have launched Homework Help, a website for Halton Catholic District School Board math students in grades 7 through 10. Students simply log-on to Homework Help at homeworkhelp.ilc.org and using an interactive chat room can obtain personalized tutoring from a certified Ontario math teacher. Chats take place Sunday to Thursday between the hours of 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Homework Help is free, live and anonymous! Parents are encouraged to visit homeworkhelp.ilc.org and to log on as a guest to view this amazing resource. |
| Youth in Halton (age 17 or under) who urgently need dental care can apply for financial assistance if they are not covered by dental insurance and can’t afford treatment. Halton Region Health Department wants residents to be aware of this service, so they are currently promoting it across Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. Look for posters in buses and malls, along with a 30-second advertisement playing on CHCH TV and in Cineplex Odeon theatres.
