School Highlights
**Parents please note that our Lost and Found bin is full. We have put the items out on tables a few times for students to come and collect their belongings. There are still some winter clothes and jackets that have not been claimed. Anything that is not claimed by Monday June 10th 2013 will be donated to a local charity. Please remind students to check before this time to ensure they get their belongings back. Thank You! **
Uniform Voting Results
The following are the results of the St. John Catholic School uniform voting results:
Total number of ballots sent to families: 194
Total number of returned ballots: 156 (80%)
Total number of YES votes 93(59.6%)
Total number of NO votes 63(40.3%)
According to HCDSB policy, 50% plus 1 of votes are needed to proceed with uniforms. As a result, St. John Catholic School will be proceeding with uniforms for September 2013.

SPRING PHOTOS: Remember if you plan on buying the Spring photos to send in the payment ASAP. If you are not buying the package please return the whole photo package back to the school.
JK/SK REGISTRATION For 2013 - 2014
It is time to register for the 2013-2014 school year. If you have not registered your child for JK and/or SK-8 you can now. If you are moving and/or new to the area and need to register for the 2013/14 school year, and you are a living in the St. John boundary, you can come and register at the school from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, except during the lunch hour between 11:25 - 12:25.
You must bring the following original documentation with you in order
to register:
Roman or Eastern Rite Catholic Baptismal Certificate of Child OR ONE PARENT
Birth Certificate
Immunization Card
Immigration Papers/Passport/Resident Card
(for Families coming from other Countries)
Junior Kindergarten - Children are required to be 4 years of age on or before December 31, 2013.
Senior Kindergarten – Children are required to be 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2013.
Reminder! Due to the numerous food allergies and the government’s initiative in promoting healthy foods and health in general, we are asking that you refrain from sending food items (baked goods) to a class to celebrate a child’s birthday or other special occasions.
Programs and events which are overseen by volunteers. All volunteers do need a current Police Check on file in the office. Each year, once the Police Check has been received, volunteers need to submit a completed VOLUNTEER CRIMINAL OFFENCE DECLARATION FORM. Lists of activities that you as a Volunteer can sign up for will be posted on a white board at the school on St. John BBQ Night.
