ESL - English as a Second Language
LINC - Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada


LINC/ESL Levels 1 to 7

These classes are designed to improve the adult learner's anbility to understand, speak, read, and write English.  Classes may incorporate computers to assist in language training.

        

Citizenship Preparation Course
This 6 week class will give adult learners enough language skills and information to complete the Citizenship test.  This course is offered three times a year; one Fall, 2 Spring.

 

Conversation / Speaking With Confidence

The emphasis is on improving everyday language, pronunciation and listening skills.

 

ESL Computers
Students will improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills in combination with basic and advanced computer concepts.  All classes are subject to enrolment.

 

High School ESL

This program is not a credit course. It is designed to provide an opportunity for secondary school students to practice and improve their reading, writing, listening, speaking, conversation, and social skills. The number of classes and the levels available will be determined by student need.

 

Job Readiness

Learn how to write resumes and cover letters, create a skills indentification list, and improve your communications using the telephone, email, business letters, and in meetings.  This course will also teach you business vocabulary, idioms, and job etiquette.

 

Pronunciation /Spelling/ Vocabulary

Improve your pronunciation by attending this class. Make yourself understood and build confidence. The class includes practice of sounds and sound combinations, and  leads students through aspects of English grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. 

 

Reading / Writing

The emphasis is on comprehension and proper writing methods.

   

TOEFL Preparation Courses
Students are guided through all aspects of the TOEFL exam that are required for college or university entrance in Ontario.

 

 

Home Study Program
